Protesting the Israeli President’s visit.

We are protesting the Israeli President’s visit to Australia tomorrow. I don’t think there’s any need to explain why. What concerns me is that he was invited, rather than a senior Jewish religious leader, if the purpose is to comfort the families of victims of the Bondi terror attack. Instead, our government invites a man who signed artillery shells that may well have wiped out entire families, who is on record for inciting racial hatred, and who said there are no innocents in Gaza. Words and actions that under our law would get you arrested.

There’s a saying that the standard you walk past is the standard you accept. Our government has now shown what it is prepared to walk past. We, ordinary people with families and communities, do not walk past the systematic slaughter of innocent civilians.
