Got an email from Meta telling me my Facebook account has been permanently disabled. Screen cap below.
Okay, Meta, and who gives a fuck anyway? But here’s what happened because it’s in the public interest to know.
I created a Facebook account so that I could access the Palestinian Action Group Sydney Facebook page and know when the next demo might be. I did not include any personal information, photos, or anything else—just a page with my name at the top. There was space for a picture on the front page, so I uploaded an AI-generated picture of a samurai on the attack. So, just my name, no info, and a picture of a samurai. Below is the picture I uploaded.
I then went and found the Palestinian Action Sydney Facebook page, and within seconds received a message telling me my activity/page did not meet ‘community standards’ and my account was disabled.
So what could have caused Meta to freak out? I have thoughts on this, but will let people arrive at their own conclusions.
