Got as far as Crowdy Head where I camped for a night, and in the morning and with my lower legs covered in constellations of mosquito bites, I decided to head back south. Not a great ride, it’s all too obvious I haven’t done many kilometres this year. A few years ago, I did Taree to Newcastle in a single day, that’s roughly 170 kilometres, and today leaving Taree at around 8AM, I just managed to get to Bulahdelah by late afternoon, about 70 kilometres. Seriously need to improve my fitness, I remember not having too much trouble doing the hills on previous rides up and down the Pacific Highway, but this time it was lowest gear and frequent rest stops.
No koalas.
Anyways, demos coming up, and a few days on the yacht reading beat poetry on deck with a glass of wine, would be nice.
